What your score means
Scores run from 0 to 100, and lower is better: the fewer of your answers that point to risks for your new liver, the lower your score.

Who the Liver Transplant Score is for
Adults 18 and over with a liver transplant
The Liver Transplant Score is for adults 18 and over who have received a liver transplant, at any time since their surgery.

Your medicines
Never stop or change your anti-rejection medicines because of a questionnaire. Talk with your transplant team before any change to your treatment.
Not a diagnosis
The score cannot detect rejection, infection or any other complication. Contact your transplant team right away if you feel unwell or notice warning signs such as fever or yellowing of your skin or eyes.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the Liver Transplant Score?
The Liver Transplant Score is a free questionnaire from LiverDirectory for adults who have had a liver transplant. Its 24 questions cover your transplant history, follow-up care, anti-rejection medicines, food and drink, sleep and activity, and it scores your answers from 0 to 100, where lower is better.
Is the Liver Transplant Score the same as a MELD score?
No. The MELD (Model for End-Stage Liver Disease) score uses blood test results to rank how urgently people on the waiting list need a liver transplant. The Liver Transplant Score is a questionnaire about life after a transplant. It does not assess transplant eligibility or replace any test your transplant team uses.
Why is a lower Liver Transplant Score better?
The score adds up answers that point to risks for a transplanted liver, such as gaps in follow-up care, alcohol or smoking. The fewer of these, the lower your score. Scores of 0 to 29 are very good, 30 to 49 good, 50 to 79 bad, and 80 to 100 very bad.
Should I change my medicines because of my score?
No. Never stop or change your anti-rejection (immunosuppressive) medicines because of a questionnaire. Talk with your transplant team about your result, and before any change to your treatment.
Can the score detect rejection or other problems?
No. It cannot detect rejection, infection or any other complication. Contact your transplant team right away if you feel unwell or notice warning signs such as fever or yellowing of your skin or eyes.
Why do you need my email address?
We email your result as a private link instead of showing it on screen, so it reaches only you and you can come back to it. The link works for 7 days. We use your email address only for this, and for our newsletter only if you tick that box.
Who can see my answers?
Only LiverDirectory’s authorized staff. Your answers are stored encrypted, never shared with providers, including your transplant center, and never used for advertising. You can share your result with your transplant team yourself, and ask us to delete your answers at any time by writing to service@amsety.us.
How long does the Liver Transplant Score take?
About 5 minutes. The 24 questions come in four short steps, and you can go back to change an answer before you send them.
